All of Scotts Photos have been moved to his page, please click here to see them all.

With temperatures changing a little cooler during the night time hours, check your portable heaters that they are cleaning and in safe running condition.  Make sure that filters and fins are clean from dust and debris, cords in good condition, and no damage to the casing of the heater.  Make sure that you also place the heater away from items that could potentially start a fire (curtains, clothing, furniture, etc) and make sure that a pet will not be able to knock over the heater or chew on the cord.

I have started a new page for Scott and I will put any media on Scott there, as well as any comments you care to post on, or about, Scott.  If you have any photos, please feel free to email them and I will post them on that page.

On April 12th, I received an e-mail from Scott’s wife and family.  Click here to see what they have to say to YOU!

Members of the Minneapolis Fire Department Honor Guard during my Grandfather funeral.

Immediately following the funeral, Captain Shanna Hanson recited the following poem to my Mother and her Sister, here is what she said to them:

Do not stand at my grave and weep; I am not there. I do not sleep.

I am a thousand winds that blow. I am the diamond glints on snow.

I am the sunlight on ripened grain.  I am the gentle autumn rain.

When you awaken in the morning's hush. I am the swift uplifting rush

Of quiet birds in circled flight. I am the soft stars that shine at night.

Do not stand at my grave and cry; I am not there. I did not die.

The 7 members of the MFD Honor Guard had a huge impact on the funeral, and from my family to yours: THANK YOU!!!

Shanna Hanson

For the record, Captain Shanna Hanson was the first Minneapolis Firefighter in the water following the I-35 Bridge collapse. My Grandfather, Aunt & Uncle had passed over that bridge only 20 minutes before the collapse.
