The new chicks arrived this morning. The post office called at about 5:45 this morning and we were off to pick up the new additions to the chicken flock.

Leurte and the dogs rather enjoyed the introduction to the farm first thing in the morning.

We received 26 Road Island Red Hens and 1 exotic chick, we won’t know what the exotic is until it is more grown up and do a little research as to what it might be.

It will take approximately one month before the chicks start to lay eggs, and they will start out small and increase in size as they grow, after they start laying regular size eggs, we should average 2-3 dozen eggs per day (phew!)
